I fell in love with Italy on my first visit over 30 years ago and followed a dream to become a freelance journalist here in Rome. I follow breaking news and features on everything from the Vatican, to politics, immigration and the Mafia, but I particularly enjoy writing about food and wine, fashion, archeology and the arts – while discovering Italy’s most spectacular travel destinations.
Since I started my career in the 1980s I have worked for newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and online media in the US, Australia and Italy. I had a six-year stint covering news and finance in New York for News Corporation from 1989 to 1995 and a few years in Sydney producing current affairs and lifestyle TV shows before moving to Rome in 2007.
Italy is more than a country, it’s an adventure! I love the challenge and the thrill of finding out what makes it tick, whether it’s discovering the country’s best chefs, designers, winemakers, art and cultural treasures or simply its stunning natural scenery.
I cover Italy for a number of international newspapers and magazines and work as a freelance TV producer and guest commentator for TV and radio networks in Australia, France, Canada and New Zealand.
